THE SOCIAL INSURANCE FOR FOREIGN WORKER

I. Workers who are foreign citizens moving to Vietnam for employment shall participate in insurance in the following cases:

1. The foreign workers who work in Vietnam and obtain work permits or practicing certificate or license issued by the Vietnamese competent authorities; and

2. Foreign workers who work under labor contract without definite-term, labor contract whose term is at least 01 year with Vietnamese employer.

 

II. Please note that both Company and Employees shall exempt from insurance when:

1. The worker is internally reassigned in the company;

2. The worker who meets the conditions of the age of retirement in accordance with clause 1 Article 187 of the Labor Code; or

3. The worker who does not work and receive salary for at least 14 working days in a month.

 

III. Levels of Payment:

LEVELS OF PAYMENT

 

From December 1st, 2018

  • 3% contribute to the fund of sickness and maternity;
  • 0,5% contribute to the occupational accident and disease insurance fund.
 

From January 1st, 2022

  • 3% contribute to sickness and maternity fund;
  • 0,5% contribute to the occupational accident and disease insurance fund;
  • 14% contribute to retirement and survivorship allowance fund.
  • 8 % the monthly salary for retirement and survivorship allowance fund.
