UNIONISTS AND WORKERS AFFECTED BY COVID-19 ARE SUPPORTED VND500,000 PER PERSON

Pursuant to Decision No. 643/QD-TLD issued by Vietnam General Confederation of Labour on paying support for unionists, workers affected by COVID-19 and coming into effect from May 20, 2020:

– Accordingly, unionists and workers affected by COVID-19 are supported as follows:

(I) Affected unionists, workers, those who lost their job/underemployed led to loss or reduction of income to equal to or less than the statutory pay rate (VND1,490,000/month), are suffering financial hardships at the time of consideration for support and are not covered by the support packages of Resolution No. 42/NQ-CP dated April 9, 2020 of the Government on support policies for those affected by COVID-19 (Resolution No. 42/NQ-CP);

(ii) Unionists, workers has received the support under Resolution No. 42/NQ-CP of the Government but they still remain in the face of extreme hardship, including:

• Female workers who are pregnant from 7 months or more or nursing an under-6-month child;
• Workers who are suffering the fatal disease;
• Severely ill workers currently being treated (whether hospitalized or as outpatients); Unionists whose spouse, child or elderly parent (currently residing with them and must be cared for) are severely ill.
• Unionists who are disabled, victims of occupational accidents and have not yet received support.
• Other especially stricken cases which directly affect their ability to work, health, welfare…

(iii) Support amount: 500,000 VND/person. Every person is only supported once;

(iv) Applicable affected time: From March 1, 2020 until May 31, 2020;

(v) Implementation time: No later than July 30, 2020.
