THE PERMISSIBLE EXPOSURE LIMIT VALUE OF 50 CHEMICALS AT THE WORKPLACE ISSUED BY MINISTRY OF HEALTH

According to Circular No. 10/2019/TT-BYT issued by the Ministry of Health on June 10, 2019 and coming into effect on December 09, 2019:

  • Accordingly, QCVN 03:2019/BYT – National technical regulation on permissible exposure limit value of 50 chemicals at the workplace is issued together with this Circular.
  • Short Term Exposure Limit is the concentration of a chemical in the workplace air averaged over a 15-minute period which the worker exposure should not exceed. This Short Term Exposure Limit shall be applied to chemicals irritate to the skin or mucous membranes, inhabitation or stimulation of central nervous system, acute or sub-acute injuries or irreversible tissue damage.
  • Time Weighted Average is the concentration of a chemical in the workplace air averaged over an 8-hour work shift or 40-hour workweek.
  • The Time Weighted Average for some chemicals are: 200 mg/m3 for Acetone; 25 mg/m3 for Acetic acid; 5,0 mg/m3 for Hydrogen chloride; 1,0 mg/m3 for Sulfuric acid; 0,005 mg/m3 for Cadmi and compounds; 9.000 mg/m3 for Carbon dioxide.
  • The Short Term Exposure Limit of Acetone is 1000 mg/m3; Acetic acid is 35 mg/m3; Hydrogen chloride is 7,5 mg/m3; Sulfuric acid is 2,0 mg/m3; Carbon dioxide is 18.000 mg/m3.
